I believe birth is not just a physical event, but a sacred passage - of body, mind, and spirit. It is an invitation to tap into the ancient and innate wisdom within. Through my writing and teaching, I invite women to rediscover the power, wisdom, and peace that lies within the birthing experience.
A Holistic Guide to Calm, Intuitive & Empowered Pregnancy and Birth is both a personal story and a gentle guide. It weaves together my own experiences, the insights I’ve gathered from 15 years of teaching, and practical tools to guide women to approach pregnancy and birth with calm confidence.
“I believe birth is not just a beginning, but a sacred passage — one that shaped my life, my journey and my writing.”
Welcome, I’m Aura Mengel — a woman, a mother, a storyteller of birth and a guide for women journeying into motherhood. Breath is my prayer and body wisdom is my conviction. And my unwavering faith is always in the Divine.
My path into birth work began not in a classroom, but in the quiet, sacred moments of my own pregnancies and births. It was there — in the stillness between contractions, in the primal rhythm of breath and surrender — that I learned birth is not just a physical event, but a deeply spiritual passage. A vortex where not only the child is born but also a mother. Through each pregnancy and birth, I discovered how deeply a woman’s mind, body, and spirit are connected — and how powerful birth can be when approached with trust, presence, and peaceful surrender. Through prenatal yoga, mindful movement, and ancient wisdom, I guide women to remember what their bodies have always known: that birth is not something to fear, but a place of immense strength, love, and transformation.
My teachings are woven from personal experience, the stories of many women I’ve walked alongside, more than thousand woman I´ve had honor to work with in person and a belief that the body which conceives the child, grows, carries and nurtures the baby for 9 months, knows exactly how to deliver that baby in the best possible way. In my writing, I weave together personal stories, practical tools, and insights from both ancient traditions and modern science. My upcoming book Born From Peace is a heartfelt guide for women who choose to trust their bodies, embrace the natural rhythms of birth, and step into motherhood feeling supported and empowered.
When I’m not writing or doing yoga, you’ll find me painting, reading, sitting behind my piano, running, cliff-diving or wandering in the wilderness. I always have multiple projects at hand – writing a book, renovating a house, creating my online course, planning my next art show or going on a spontaneous adventure. I love slow mornings alone in silence with my mate tea and spending time with loved ones — always returning to the simple moments of Life that I treasure greatly.
I have three amazing children, each unique and inspiring in their own particular way. They´ve always been with me: moving around, living between countries, all the shifts and changes, challenges, losses and victories – it hasn't been perfect, but it has been real. Rich in authentic connection, honesty and love. Motherhood has been my greatest teacher, the ultimate Guru and both my physical and spiritual practice. Raw and real, achingly beautiful journey that cracks you open in ways nothing else does. It strips off all the armor and bullshit. You are left with a brutally honest and naked version of yourself. The good, the bad, the ugly and the absolutely magnificent. It breaks all the illusions and delusions you might have had about yourself. And that vulnerable and brutally honest space gives you an immense opportunity to really get to know yourself. Your strength, your wisdom, your intuition. It refines your character – your patience, your kindness, your selfishness. Unapologetically it outlines the weaknesses in your character and in your mindset – so you can clearly witness them and make a change. To become the parent that your child deserves. Because they align with your actions, not with your words. Raising a child is raising yourself first. Parenthood is humbling and empowering at the same time. I feel blessed to be a Woman. And even more so to be a Mother – a journey my Soul felt called upon.
